Frequently asked questions
No. Bill is paid by the insurance company when someone enrolls in a plan through him, and the premium is the same whether you use an agent or buy on your own. There is no fee for a review, a second opinion, or a call to ask a question.
No. Good Life Retirement Solutions is an independent insurance agency in Lincoln, Nebraska. It is not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program. For information on every plan in your area, you can also use Medicare.gov, call 1-800-MEDICARE, or contact Nebraska SHIP at 1-800-234-7119.
Most people can change Medicare Advantage or Part D plans during the Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 to December 7, with the new plan starting January 1. If you are in a Medicare Advantage plan, you also get one change between January 1 and March 31. Moving, losing other coverage, and a few other events open Special Enrollment Periods.
Bring your Medicare card, a list of every prescription with the dose, the names of your doctors and the hospital you prefer, and the letters your current plan sent you this fall. With that, Bill can check every plan against what you actually use instead of guessing.
No. The office is in east Lincoln and many clients come in person, but Bill works with people all over Nebraska, including Omaha, Grand Island, Kearney and the small towns in between. Phone and video reviews cover the same ground as an office visit.
It depends on your doctors, your health, your budget, and how much you travel. A supplement costs more each month but lets you see any doctor that takes Medicare with very little out of pocket. Medicare Advantage usually costs less each month but uses a network and charges copays as you go. The comparison guide walks through both.
With Original Medicare and a supplement, you can see any doctor in the country who accepts Medicare. With Medicare Advantage, you need to check that your doctors and hospitals are in the plan network for the coming year, because networks change. Bill checks your doctors by name before you choose a plan.
You get your plan cards and welcome materials from the insurance company, and you can still call Bill with questions about bills, coverage or pharmacy problems. Every fall he reviews your plan against your medications and doctors before the Annual Enrollment Period, so you are not left guessing about changes.
